A heritage that
continues to speak.
“Zartonk” means awakening. Founded by Falcon soprano Natali Boghossian, Zartonk Consort develops concert, operatic and interdisciplinary projects in which Armenian music remains a vital presence in contemporary classical performance.
Its artistic approach draws on the depth of song, poetry and history, while inviting composers, arrangers and performers to imagine new relationships between musical traditions.
Continuity.
To hear Armenian music, from song to opera, not only as inherited repertoire but as a living source of artistic renewal.
Reimagination.
To research, curate, commission and premiere performances that honour their musical roots while opening new possibilities for the stage.
Dialogue.
To create programmes through a flexible artistic constellation of voice, instruments, collaborators and ideas.
The artists
behind the sound.

The ensemble's artistic constellation may evolve according to the repertoire and dramaturgy of each project.

Many voices.
One conversation.
Zartonk collaborates with musicians, composers, arrangers, ensembles and cultural institutions. Every new project is an invitation to encounter heritage as something vivid, intimate and still becoming.
